In March of every year there is a band of intrepid, expedition kayak and canoe paddlers and small boat sailors that participate in what can only be described as “the toughest expedition style small craft race in the world”, the Everglades Challenge (EC) (http://www.watertribe.com). The course is 300 miles long and goes from Tampa Bay to Key Largo and if you choose you can take the “inside route” which is 99 miles thru the Everglades. It was during the EC2005 I got to use one of your Jetboil stoves. Before, I had used one of those white gas stoves. But to use one of those we had to go to shore as using a white gas stove in a canoe is “iffy” at best. Since there have been times we stayed in the canoe over 40 hours at a stretch it was really nice to be able to set up the Jetboil while in the canoe and brew up some coffee or boil up some nice hot soup without having to stop to do so. When we all met at the finish line in Key Largo all the other competitors gathered around to see our “new fangled” stove. It caused quite a stir and I’m I’ll see more the next time. You can bet I’ll have my stove with me and with the addition of your “pot adaptor” and French press I can have hot drinks and food anywhere either on the water or on land in safety and comfort.
