Disaster relief in Pakistan

I first encountered Jetboil products getting gear for an upcoming volunteer medical Disaster Relief mission to Pakistan with the group NYCMedics to build a field hospital and deploy shelters after the massive earthquakes in the area. I brought along the Jetboil PCS and a few canisters, not knowing totally what I was going to encounter. It worked incredibly! I used it to boil water for my Nalgene bottle to keep warm at night in my sleeping bag and then drink as cooler/safer water the next day, to make coffee with the French press adapter, and to make hot meals from dehydrated food. I ended up using it for 5 other people on the trip as well. I’ve attached some photos for you of our trip. I’ve since brought it along with me to other areas of the world as well, namely Kenya and Nigeria on similar work. I’ve brought it on family camping trips and have used it at the house when the power has gone out, too. My wife and I just began Kayaking and are on our first trip, sans kids, and so it means less stuff we have to bring. Thanks so much for this product, it’s absolutely fantastic – I can’t wait to see what you guys have out next, or where I’m going to use it. - David Violante

When I first got my Jetboil back in 2006, I instantly became the envy of my fire crew. No longer was I stuck eating plain old MRE's. With my new Jetboil, I could cook up a whole assortment of tasty food. My Jetboil was such a hit with the crew, at the end of the year almost everyone had one of their own. Now 3 years later, it’s still going strong. I use it almost every day, even if I’m not out on the line. It’s extremely well-made, versatile and is compact. Looking back, I don't know what I would do without my Jetboil. What an awesome product!!!

I have owned two Jetboil Personal Cooking Systems for sometime now but I used them for the first time during the power outage caused by Hurricane Ike. These things rock. I made coffee for ourselves and our friends and it was a nice treat when nothing else was working. Again thanks for a great product that exceeds my expectations.

I’m a back-country firefighter and I taught a fire course at the Region One Smoke Jumper Base in Missoula, Montana. My part of the class focused on alternative ways to feed firefighters. I covered several ways, but they were all most impressed when I pulled out a Jetboil, fired it up, and made a good breakfast in less than five minutes!

At 15 ounces, and a boil time of two minutes, the Jetboil system was a most welcome replacement for the heavy, bulky, hard-to-start stove I was packing in my recreational pack. It's also a no-brainer for the 24-hour pack I'm required to carry for the Search and Rescue unit with which I volunteer. I am consistently amazed with the design and performance the Jetboil delivers in a package smaller than a one-liter Nalgene bottle.

The high winds and snow began on Saturday evening, January 22, and continued for 24 hours—dumping two feet of drifting snow and totally blocking our steep driveway. Our street was finally plowed at 3pm on Monday, and our driveway was partially cleared on Tuesday, January 25, at 3pm. We have an all-electric house. Our power went out on Sunday, January 23 at 7:30am and didn’t return until 4:30pm. We used our Jetboil for tea and coffee at breakfast, and for tea and soup at lunch, and for afternoon tea at 4pm. We planned to heat beef stew in the Jetboil for dinner, but fortunately the power came back. We’d had the option of being carried out to emergency vehicles and spending the next several days at the Falmouth, MA High School Emergency Shelter, or of battoning down in parkas and hoping that power would be restored. We had decided to stay, knowing that we could use our Jetboil to warm food and drink as long as we needed. Jetboil sustained us that day, and influenced us to wait out the cold and isolation that night. People should be aware of the Jetboil and its virtues!

Friends and I were flying around Alaska on a business/pleasure trip in our airplanes when this storm put us on the ground on a little strip near Amakdedori Creek. 4 days and 3 nights with winds in excess of 70 mph, we huddled in our tent. Your Jetboil was a blessing. We cooked nearly all our meals with it. It is wind proof! The fuel efficiency surprised me. With our Mountain House dry foods from our survival kits, we enjoyed a diverse menu in comfort. Wild Cranberry tea, boiled coffee, jerky soup, were some of the tasks this all around survival stove provided us. This unit is a must have for all outdoor enthusiasts. Thank you and all the gang at Jetboil.
