Jetboil Out There

Lloyd DuVal, April 2004: Last Sunday, I took my new Jetboil stove along in my day pack, snowshoeing on fresh snow up to just below tree line (11,350 feet, SW Pikes Peak) where I brewed some coffee for our lunch break before returning to the TH. I poured in just a cup of water and filled the rest of the liter cooking cup with snow. The piezo electric igniter worked like a charm, and it boiled a little more than 2 cups in less than 3 minutes while set out in the open in a 5-10 wind!
