Search & Rescue
- Tom Maxwell, May 2005
- I’m a back-country firefighter and I taught a fire course at the Region One Smoke Jumper Base in Missoula, Montana. My part of the class focused on alternative ways to feed firefighters. I covered several ways, but they were all most impressed when I pulled out a Jetboil, fired it up, and made a good breakfast in less than five minutes!

- At 15 ounces, and a boil time of two minutes, the Jetboil system was a most welcome replacement for the heavy, bulky, hard-to-start stove I was packing in my recreational pack. It's also a no-brainer for the 24-hour pack I'm required to carry for the Search and Rescue unit with which I volunteer. I am consistently amazed with the design and performance the Jetboil delivers in a package smaller than a one-liter Nalgene bottle.
